Carpentry Course

This course provides a trade outcome in carpentry, covering work in residential and commercial applications.

During this course you will learn how to:

  • Handle carpentry materials
  • Carry out general demolition of minor building structures
  • Carry out setting out
  • Carry out levelling operations
  • Carry out measurements and calculations
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Use explosive power tools
  • Construction and erection of frames, trusses, eaves and roofs
  • Install flooring systems
  • Construct wall frames
  • Construct ceiling frames
  • Erect roof trusses
  • Construct pitched roofs
  • Construct eaves
  • Install and replace windows and doors
  • Install lining, panelling and moulding
  • Construct timber external stairs

To do the course you must have access to electrical power tools for carpentry, be working in the building industry, have a smart-phone with internet access, and be able to understand, read and write basic English. All measurements are metric.

Duration: 24 months

Cost: A$1000. Pay as you go; A$80 per subject
